Worked with numerous school districts within Treaty 8, and was assigned to Driftpile First Nation School, and Swan River First Nation School. I researched the newest resources in literacy and numeracy, and purchased materials and resources for these Nation's schools. I worked closely with all staff members within these schools, I was then seconded by the Swan River First Nation School as literacy and numeracy specialist, as well as the Cree language and culture teacher, I performed in this position until the Treaty 8 Education program concluded.

  • Conducted thorough research to identify trends and inform decision-making for literacy and numeracy.
  • Implemented new training programs for staff, leading to higher employee retention rates and better overall performance.
  • Organized large-scale events, such as land based learnings, and team building on the land.
  • Gathered, organized and input information into digital database.

To work in collaboration with all twenty three First Nations within Treaty 8 Alberta. I was responsible for reviewing proposals, communicating with First Nations schools, First Nations Governments, provincial, federal government officials, and various other agencies pertaining to First Nations Education. I was also responsible for writing final reports, briefing notes, and reporting directly to the Director of Education, and Education Commissioners. Distributing funds to the First Nations and maintaining budgets within allocated funding requirements, preform other duties as requested.

Plan, design and deliver Cree languages courses for Jr, High, Sr, High Cree 10, 20 ,30, and Aboriginal Studies 10-20 Culture classes. I have taught Fashion Studies, Wildlife, Art, and Music for students enrolled at the school. This also includes Academic courses such as Mathematics, Social Studies, Language Arts, and Science at the Jr. High level. Provided personal and academic counseling to students and was a liaison for students and parents. I coordinated cultural programs and field trips, and wrote proposals.
