Manager, International Division & Accounts

  • Shoe Manufacturing Company – Company generated approximately $200,000 in revenues monthly.
  • Opened the International Division and coordinated the activities required for the management of this area. Was in charge of import activities, including establishing relationships with foreign (normally European) vendors, initiating the orders to import materials from Europe, contacting the Freight Forwarders to manage and track the shipping process, and dealing with local authorities to ensure compliance with regulations, and safe delivery of materials. In addition, I supervised the timely delivery of the product (either finished shoes, or shoe components such as soles or tops) to the client.
  • In charge of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable. Interacted with clients across Mexico and vendors in Europe to ensure that our accounts were in proper order.
  • In charge of the Payroll of 140 employees. Processed their time cards, remitted the appropriate taxes to the Tax Authorities, and managed the disbursement of the weekly paychecks.
  • Accomplishments: Opened the International Division, improved a disorganized service department by implementing an ordering system which enabled me to keep the clients (normally shoe stores) informed about the status of their orders. In addition, I organized the bookkeeping.
