Saint Agnes Medical Center Operating Room:no: Observed oral surgeon perform tooth extractions while CRNA administered Remifentanil and Propofol for monitored anesthesia care (MAC). CRNAs in this setting are scarce but considered a vital resource to the surgeon, as they can provide emergency interventions when deemed necessary. The CRNA reassured patients with calm encouragement, and as they woke up, gently told them they had done a great job and that everything had gone well.

Renaissance Outpatient Surgery Center, Fresno: Observed CRNA-administered anesthesia for pain management and podiatry procedures, including use of MAC and LMA insertion when appropriate. Gained exposure to postoperative medication planning for pain and nausea, and witnessed effective interdisciplinary communication with patients and nursing staff post-procedure.
