Summary

My goal is to pursue an NP position at BC Cancer as a Pain and Symptom management NP. I bring over 30 years of leadership, patient advocacy and critical care nursing experience. My clinical practice relevant to this position includes working with cancer patients undergoing interventional procedures providing pain relief/sedation and managing complex co-morbid medical conditions. I value forming trusting relationships with the patients and families that I serve and feel honored to provide psychosocial support/counseling to patients and families facing health challenges. I have extensive experiencing counseling and partnering with patients toward end of life planning and enjoy collaborating with other health care professionals and being part of team based care.

  • TLC (Total Life Care) Medical Clinic, I had the privilege of providing care for two clinical rotations at the request of the Medical Director
  • I worked independently, providing full-service healthcare to all members of the community, from infants to seniors
  • On average, I saw 15-20 patients per day
  • I also administered full vaccinations and performed necessary procedures, including PAP, STI screening, mole removal, and I&Ds, among others

  • The Patient Assessment and Transition to Home (PATH) unit is an inpatient hospital-based program in, where Nurse Practitioners assume the role of the Most Responsible Provider (MRP) for patients
  • During my time on the PATH unit, I had the opportunity to work alongside the physician MRP and a multidisciplinary team to support vulnerable older adults with an alternative level of care (ALC) designation with complex discharge requirements, to facilitate successful transitions home or to other supported care environments
