I am VERY autonomous and trustworthy and very well organized in my work. All my contracts and jobs up until now, have been without supervision and I always deliver the goods. I can also lead a team, getting the best out my teammates.
For the past four years I have been living in a small but quickly expanding village in Nunavik. I was responsible for the CLSC ,and the school, keeping both places dust free, clean, and disinfected, and making sure the boilers, hot water tanks and generators are functioning properly. KMHB (responsible for the local housing) I would clean out the houses and prepare them for the next residents, and finally the Hotel; where I was the head janitor and also assisted the manager if she wasn't there or simply over burdened. The hotel had eighteen rooms, and we mostly catered to all the workers who were there to expand the village, like construction workers, teachers, nurses, engineers, etc. Reference letters and numbers on demand.
I was responsible for all of the cleaning and building maintenance. The clinic has thirty-five doctors offices, an emergency section (five examining rooms and a two bed emergency room), and a small laboratory, a pediatric section for babies, also, a conference room and locker room with five (staff only) bathrooms. The main waiting room held eighty seats and the pediatric waiting room held thirty seats. Of course, at that size I needed a team, which consisted of four people (without me). Two people worked with me every night, as for the other two took care of the weekends, holidays, and replacements .I made sure the clinic was clean, dust free and disinfected from the chairs in the waiting room to the medical instruments on the wall in the exam rooms. We also waxed and buffed the floors on a regular basis. Building maintenance was also my responsibility, everything from setting the temperature to making sure all the sinks drain properly to changing any burnt lights and so on.....If the repair demanded a professional, again it was my responsibility to call and deal with the contractor. and the situation at hand.
Desinfection specialist: Thanks to the clinics laboratory and my good friend, the head nurse, in 2008 when the H1N1 virus was rampant I decided to expand my knowledge (for my job) and started to read up on microbiology, and was educated by the head nurse on how to use the laboratoy (petri dishes, analysis of germs or bacteria and viruses etc) With that knowledge and access to the laboratory I was able to do real time tests and experiments through out the clinic After several years of lecture and experimenting I can now declare myself a disinfection specialist, upon which my work was very appreciated during the Covid years in Nunavik
