Operating the press has taught me a great deal not only about press operation, but also provided me with knowledge about other operations such as collating, roll distribution and packaging/shipping.

• Operate auxiliary equipment such as folding machines or cutting devices.
• Set up and operate printing press to print designs, text, logos and designs on different types of paper.
• Inspect and test printed materials for defects such as smearing, blurring, fading, or streaking.
• Troubleshoot mechanical problems using hand tools and gauges.
• Follow written instructions from supervisor regarding production jobs to be completed.

As a guillotine operator I measure and cut paper to precise specifications, performing calculations and adhering to strict guidelines as part of the process. I have learned very quickly in this industry and have shown an interest in growing further.

In addition to driving streetcars both on property and within the city, over 11 years I did several other jobs within the company. These include heavy duty pressure washing, stripping and sealing floors, as well as cataloguing and distributing tools.
