As a patient counselor in a hospital, my role is to provide emotional support, guidance, and counseling to patients and families. I assess their needs, intervene in crises when necessary, educate them about their condition and treatment options, work with the healthcare team, provide supportive counseling, advocate for patients' rights, refer them to resources as needed, and maintain confidentiality throughout all interactions. Overall, I want to improve emotional well-being and the patient experience by providing compassionate and tailored care.
