• With a direct supervision by the RN, I assisted with patients' bladder scanning, collect clean catch urine specimens, obtain a sterile urine specimen from the port of a catheter, assist with suctioning the oral pharynx, clean equipment, change batteries of equipment, collect and transport specimens, and perform unit duties as assigned
• Assist in maintaining the call light within patients' reach and use designated communication
• A mechanism for patients with impaired hearing, speaking skills, or language barriers records and reports vital signs on patients as directed
• Assist in preparing patients for, and perform a variety of cardiac monitoring and testing procedures, including, but not limited to, EKG and event monitor, while assisting in utilizing the correct lead placement for the various cardiac monitoring devices and procedures

• Utilized computerized Resource and Patient Management System (RPMS) and Electronic Health Record (EHR) system
• Provided education regarding disease process and prevention strategies to promote self-care management
• Documented patient care activities and observations in medical records accurately
• Read and understood patient assignment list and reviewed charts to check for special conditions
• Conducted health screenings and assessments under the supervision of a nurse
• Utilized critical thinking skills when assessing for changes in patient condition or response to treatment modalities
