Energetic self starter with a sunny disposition, currently seeking a new employment opportunity where I can harness my innate talents to become an asset to an organization. I carry several years of experience in both the hospitality industry as well as financial services industry, along with a host of volunteer positions.

• Treasurer - Board of Directors - Umoja Operation Compassion Society, Surrey

September 2018 — Present

In September of 2018, I joined the board of the organization that I had the pleasure of  volunteering with for the past 5 years prior. Umoja Operation Compassion society is a  non profit based in Surrey, BC, whose main goal is to assist new immigrants and refugees  as they integrate into Canadian society. In addition to our local projects, we also oversee  operations in a community in rural Uganda, where I love spending time. This includes  a school, clinic, as well as a budding microfinance program for the local women in that  village. In my role as treasurer, I am in charge of overseeing monthly financial statements  for the non-profit and making sure that we are on track with our annual budget. 

• Volunteer - Rwentutu Community Uganda, Kasese

April 2017 — Present

I have collectively spent 6 months on the ground in rural Uganda assisting on making  plans for socioeconomic improvements in the community that is overseen by the board  which I am a part of.  My time there is spent working alongside the administration at  the school to assist them in areas such as technological advancement and financial management.  I also work on a micro finance program with the local women of that  village, teaching them entrepreneurial skills, and also how to be more efficient stewards of their money.  Finally, I occassionally spearhead ad hoc development projects - most  recently was the construction of new latrines, as well as a water pump system which will bring running water to the village.   

• Children's Program Mentor - Umoja Operation Compassion Society, Surrey

December 2013 — September 2018

In my role as a volunteer with the kids at Umoja Operation Compassion society, I assisted  new immigrants and refugees to Canada with integration into Canadian society.  This was  done through assisting children with their homework after school, helping with English  language and literacy schools, and encouraging socializing and development of new  friendships through social outings and field trips.
