- As a welder at premier my job is to build/weld/fabricate 3 trailers (Hoppers and Supper Hoppers) a day, sometimes 4 from scratch structurally without a flaw; with the help of 6 people split in two groups. A production line, fast pace and hot and dirty. Our work is fast and it has to be done by a certain time, if not I run the risk of getting written up as the team leader; I have to help finish other people's job so that there are no consequences. (I'm the fastest of the 6 people on my team) My part consists of installing and completing the landing gear on trailers and of welding the king-pin with the most important weld on the trailer which holds over 80,000 pounds ordained from my experience. (current position) I also weld 4 subframes on occasion which weigh about 400 pounds when completed this frame gets mounted and welded onto the rear of the trailer to be set on its axle.
