ECLS Coordinator

  • Participates in the planning and coordination of the ECLS program as well as development and maintenance of ECLS clinical standards.
  • Coordinates ECLS education for clinical perfusionists, ECLS specialists, non ECLS specialists, and allied health (RT's, physiotherapists, CT techs, Cath lab techs) which include high fidelity simulations and wet labs.
  • Participates in quality improvement/quality assurance initiatives and actively promotes ECLS program performance and competency measures to improve services.
  • Organizes interdisciplinary review of ECLS cases to develop individualized treatment plans, ensuring optimal patient care.
  • Organizes debriefs for ECMO initiations and end of life transitions.
  • Works with Biomedical engineering department and Perfusion Lead to maintain ECLS platforms and supplies.
  • Participates on intra and inter-hospital committees and provincial working groups by providing input, recommendations, and promoting the goals and objectives of the program.
