Greeting and rooming patients. Obtaining and recording accurate and thorough vitals, chief complaints, past medical, surgical, social and family history, current allergies, medications, supplements and over the counter drugs. Documenting surgical history, immunization history and appropriate screening procedures. Performing procedures as directed by providers such as but not limited to electrocardiograms, wound care, vaccine administration and other appropriate injections, screening audiograms, visual acuity and documenting results. Working with the provider to ensure important screenings and measures are up to date and requesting past results as needed. I began working in the front office at Waring Court Pediatric and Adult Medical group in 2001 and left to work part time in the front office at La Jolla Urology around 2006 after becoming a grandmother. I returned to Waring Court full time in October 2010 when 2 of the 3 urologists were leaving to relocate to Texas. When I returned I worked as the referral coordinator and as an MA for the physician assistants there and at times Dr. Dalforno, pediatrician and founder/ owner until a new provider joined. I them began to work as a full time Clinical Medical Assistant for Dr. Catherine Lawson while also doing clinical back office assisting occasionally for Dr. Dalforno. Responsibilities included preparing lab and imaging orders and obtaining results and finally relaying providers instructions and or interpretations they wanted made known to their patients.
