School Projects At NSCC

Capstone Project:

I did a capstone project with Maritime Paper Products on one of their machines. The objective of this project was to redesign the air filtration system for its exhaust. We measured and made a cad model of the frame which we then did the design around. This project reinforced my cad skills and working with assembles in Autodesk Inventor.

Shaft Design Project:

In Machine Design II I did a project where I had to design a drive shaft for a factory setting from scratch. This included calculations for geometry, size, bearing selection, keyway sizing, and endurance limit. Then I modeled it in cad, did a stress analysis, and an engineering drawing. This project helped me get comfortable with applying individual machine design concepts into one big project.

Robot Competition:

I took part in a robot competition as a part of one of our Technical Communication class. In this competition Me and my team had to design a robot to compleat in three deferent challenges, Obstacle course, Drag race, and last sumo wrestling. We 3D printed parts, experimented with better batteries and different setups. In the end we managed to win all three challenges.

During this challenge I got quite a lot of team working experience which has helped me to this day.
