AbCellera Biologics’ GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) Manufacturing Facility, valued over $140 million.
The 130,000 square foot facility in a two- acre site near downtown Vancouver, in two stories aims to accelerate the development of antibody-based therapies for an array of medical conditions, which will house laboratories, offices, parkade, rooftop recreational space and GMP protein biologic manufacturing facility on the main floor.
Pre-construction:
· Collaborating with estimating department to enhance the comprehensive tender package as design progress
· Preparing sub-contracts, scope of work and meeting trades to negotiate subcontract terms
Construction:
· Review and prepare change order requests for approval.
· Prepare and submit monthly progress reports and owner billing statements.
· Organize and lead weekly meetings with trades, consultants, and the owner: Develop detailed agendas, facilitate open communication among stakeholders, address issues, and provide updates on schedule, quality, and project risks.
· Manage cash flow and projected cost reports for ensuring alignment with the project budget and providing the owner with accurate financial updates for informed decision-making.
· Review RFIs and submittals from trades, analyze and track technical inquiries and product submittals, then distribute them through Procore to consultants for approval, ensuring timely responses and compliance with design standards.
· Coordinate with trades and project teams to promptly resolve construction issues: Act as the point of contact for resolving on-site problems, ensuring solutions are implemented quickly to maintain progress and minimize disruptions to the construction schedule.
Commissioning/closing Phase:
· Followed up and tracked the receipt of closing documents from trades, ensuring compliance with specifications.
· Participated in commissioning meetings with mechanical, electrical, and owner commissioning team members to discuss schedules and procedures for this phase.
· Reviewed and approved substantial requests from trades, and prepared and issued these requests to the prime consultant.
