My name is Tanner Mandeville. I am 24 years old. I am a chipwayen Metis part of the NWT Metis nation and was born and raised in Hay River, Northwest Territories. I lived in Hay River my whole life except for when I attended college in Fairview & Red Deer for eight weeks during 2018, 2019 and 2022. I grew up being taught from a young age traditional knowledge from my family about my ancestors, harvesting, and respecting the land as well as my surroundings. I teach my younger family members about traditional knowledge that has been passed down to me as well. As I got older playing sports I started travelling with team NWT to AWGs, CWGs and NAHC for hockey and also attended CSG's, AWGs, NAIG and WCSGs for volleyball as well. During my off time from work I enjoy being outdoors as much as possible, hunting, fishing, doing motor and recreational sports. I got my Automotive Service Technician Red Seal in December of 2022. I started my apprenticeship when I was 17 in fall of 2016 and left in September 2023 due to personal reasons. I am a hard worker and work with computers daily diagnosing electrical systems, programming modules etc. I am looking for a career change and I am willing to learn and work hard for what ever opportunity I get. I have experience with teamwork, communicating with customers/co-workers, using critical thinking, adapting to new issues and following safety and work protocols.
