I purchased the practice of Dr.Scott Shafer, who was retiring due to health reasons. I established my name in the dental community by attending office-to-office meetings, attending the local dental society meetings, holding continuing education meetings, and offering study clubs to enhance the knowledge and skills of the local dentists. Since the practice was acquired it has grown from a 1000 square foot office with four employees to our current 3000 square foot space with 9 employees.
Obtained admitting privileges at St. Mary's General Hospital and Grand River Hospital where I covered the emergency department and ICU and provided a full-scope of OMFS care including temporomandibular joint, reconstructive and orthognathic surgery.
Acted as the Chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery for one . three year term
Longstanding member of the joint medicine and therapeutics committee.

Worked as an associate surgeon in the offices of Dr. Harry Hersh. The main office was located in Cambridge, ON and a new satellite office was being established in Stratford, ON. My responsibilities included in-office OMFS care along with coverage of the Stratford General Hospital emergency department.
Additional responsibilities were to meet with the dentists practicing in the community to introduce ourselves to the local community.
Four year OMFS Residency that included rotations through general medicine, anesthesia, general surgery, intensive care medicine and cleft/craniofacial surgery.
Rotated through the Toronto General Hospital, Toronto Western Hospital, The Wellesley Hospital and the Hospital for Sick Children
Participated in the development of content and the delivery of examinations in the areas of medicine, anesthesia and pathology for candidates sitting the OMFS Fellowship by the RCDC.
Provide a limited scope of dental care to members of the Canadian Armed Forces who were attached to National Defense Headquarters and National Defense Medical Center. I worked alongside an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon and a Periodontist to expand my scope of knowledge
Functioned as the liaison between the Dental Corps and the National Defense Personnel Department to assist in the deployment of a newly launched computer system (DENCIS) designed to track all Canadian Forces members that were attached to each individual base and facilitate their recall dental care.

Participated in Operation Brave Lion: A multi-nation NATO military exercise in northern Norway designed to test the readiness to protect the Northern flank. My tasks were to set up a mobile dental unit and provide emergency dental care to the soldiers and airway that were attached to the location.
