Drew Mackay

Summary

My name is Drew Mackay and I am a 21-year-old student at Wilfrid Laurier University, completing her Bachelor’s in International Education Studies and minor in Indigenous Studies. I have a large amount of work and volunteer experience working with children in both traditional education and non-traditional settings. I am a strong and empathetic leader with a passion for both teaching and learning. I thrive in youth environments, offering a compassionate and adaptable approach to education. I am driven by positivity, humility, passion, and heart, and value making meaningful experiences with children from diverse backgrounds. I know my experiences working as a supply teacher, tutor, STEM-Camp counselor, customer service employee, and president of my student association here at Laurier, have helped teach me valuable leadership skills that would make me a valuable asset to your team. Along with my training in Inclusive Education, intercultural understanding, and many other intercultural competencies that I have developed so far throughout my degree, I think my values would align quite perfectly with those of the rest of your employees!
