Inside and outside of work, my community is and always has been very important to me, and helping to lead in building that community up is something I have been very serious about trying to do since being in high school. Before starting with work, I was helping volunteer at the local Little League in my free time, and helped lead school programs like high school's radio station and newspaper while partnering with local businesses and nonprofits in the area. In College, I was a member of the Chamber Choir, which was a special group selected to lead other singers, and had the honor to represent the school while performing at places like the State Capitol. I also helped lead environmental cleanups at the campus and plan student community events. Outside of school, I joined a local Freemason Lodge in El Dorado, where I have been involved with helping plan out holiday parades, community picnics, and sponsoring little league teams. In my current job, at Sherwin Williams, I have been able to build a strong relationship with a lot of regular customers, some of whom I have helped defuse issues, others simply by getting to know them through conversations when they come in. I have also spent time serving people food on Thanksgiving and during regular services at the church which I attend. Community means a lot to me, and I am passionate about helping to create not just a safer, but a more connected community, using skills I have accumulated and the skills I hope to pick up in a field like this.
