The Laurier is an ice breaker that leaves from Victoria BC harbour and sails up Canada's inside passage and through the Northwest Passage ensuring the barge that delivers food and dry good to the Inuit communities does not get iced in.
The CCGS Hudson sails from Dartmouth N.S. on science research missions. The missions last 6 weeks and end up in Thule Greenland.
In both Vernon BC and Salmon Arm I worked in Emergency and ICU.
Vernon is a level 2 trauma centre and Salmon Arm is a level 3 centre.
My critical thinking skills are well developed Because of my varied background in Nursing I am proficient at working independently and making decisions under pressure

In summary my long and varied Nursing career allowed me so many wonderful opportunities. I have worked and lived in First Nation Communities in expanded practice. I have worked on large Emergency and ICU units as well as had the opportunity to work as a Flight Nurse and work on two Canadian Coast Guard ships. I have been from sea to sea to sea with my Nursing Career.
I also worked at the Remand Centre in Edmonton in 2000 in a casual position.
I retired from Nursing last year after over 30 years.
I am 67 years old, a female. I am in very good physical health with no medical history. I stay active biking, hiking and kayaking.
I would like to be considered for the casual position of casual on-call Guard at the detachment in Fort Macleod.
