The Specialised Interventionist Agent plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of both patients and staff within a psychiatric hospital setting. This position involves direct intervention in crisis situations, including instances of psychosis, mania, or violent behavior, to facilitate de-escalation and maintain a safe environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Crisis Intervention:
• Respond promptly to Code White situations, providing immediate support to individuals in crisis, including those experiencing psychosis or aggressive behaviour.
•Employ de-escalation techniques and therapeutic communication to manage crises effectively and compassionately.
• Safety Assurance:
• Ensure the safety of all personnel and patients within the hospital environment, conducting regular assessments and monitoring high-risk areas.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to implement safety protocols and respond to emergencies as required.
• Medication Administration:
•Assist in the administration of medications to patients.
•Document medication administration within intervention reports, and report any concerns to the nursing staff.
• Security Management:
• Oversee the security of the hospital and its grounds, including the surveillance of entry and exit points to prevent unauthorised access.
• Conduct routine inspections of the facility to identify potential security risks and implement corrective actions as necessary.
