Dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse [RN] with progressive career history in direct patient care. Worked well with staff and other healthcare team members as charge nurse on 32 bed long term care unit latter years of career. Proven leadership focused on increasing and enhancing patient care and satisfaction. Skilled at multitasking and prioritizing patient needs and daily assignments. Interested in travel nursing on a long term care facility only.
I began my nursing career at NDBMHCC in Twillingate, NL. At the time it was a considered a cottage hospital with an active operating room, recovery room, obstetrics unit, pediatric unit, medical surgical unit, emergency dept, and a long term care unit. I worked on all of these units at different times over the years. For the last 20+ years, it changed and now provides emergency, medical and long term care services as most rural hospital services centralized. We have an active diabetes care program and I was diabetic nurse for several years as well. The last 5years of my career was spent as charge nurse on our long term care unit. After retiring in 2020 from my full time position, I have worked as a casual registered nurse on long term care at same facility. My interest now is to do some travel nursing on a long term care facility.
