I have had the opportunity to be involved in training apprentices, over my 18 years with SaskPower. Weyburn as a instructor of skills assessment, 3rd year stick training, and 4th year live line training(rubber glove). Being chargehand on crews, assistant supervisors in districts, and instructing and guiding co-workers/apprentices over the years, has given the skills I feel are necessary for this position. I always took great pride in live line work, practices, and demonstrated the value in safe work rules.
I have had the opportunity to help train bonding and grounding, and standard protection code. Spending time with co-workers with an abundance of knowledge and history of where the company was, and is today, in regards to safety, and work practices has really brought to life the importance of change. To be able to learn from these mentors is a amazing opportunity, and I hope one day to be able to make an impact on someone like many have for me. Saskpower has been a great company over the years, and I look forward to making a difference in the future.
