Managed the health and safety program of the company in coordination with HSE/NHSA, Senior Management, Supervisors and Workers in the field.

Duties include:

• Travel (shift work in different regions across Canada)
• On-going hazard assessment, control, and communication.
• On the job training and supervision to ensure compliance with OHS regulations, guidelines and standards as well as company rules and Safe Work Practices and Procedures. Some of this training includes preparing and delivering daily tool box meetings, new hire orientations, and competency assessments.
• Intermediate first aid attendant.
• Regular inspections (site inspections, vehicles, mobile equipment, tools, fall protection equipment, first aid inventory and other safety related equipment/conditions.
• Internal COR auditor. Certified by BCCSA and ACSA.
• Lead incident investigator (Travel is sometimes required to a jobsite where a major or significant incident has occurred).
• Write and consult in fall protection plans and first aid assessments for multiple job sites.
• In-house training instructor for end user fall protection and rough terrain telehandler operation.
• Sitting co-chair of joint health and safety committee (prepare agendas and meeting minutes, run committee meetings, conduct annual committee evaluations, analyze incident date/trends, and review, develop and recommend necessary updates to Safe Work Practices and Procedures).
• Conduct evacuation drills
• Write weekly safety reports
• Resolving internal conflict in the work place and promoting health and safety for all employees and sub contracted workers)

• Shift work requiring travel
• Adhere strictly to industry safety rules and regulations
• Use of mobile equipment, fall protection systems, ladders, power tools, pneumatic tools, and powder actuated tools
• Work as a lead hand production framer to the Foreman/Supervisor. Material handling, layout preparation and construction of walls, floor and roof systems
• Maintain high productivity levels in fast-paced, high volume residential framing products.
• Review structural and architectural plans to ensure precise measurement and compliance with engineer specs and local building codes.
• Provide interim support for roles typically outside of my scope such as foreman and machine operator.
• Participate as a member of the Joint Health and Safety committee since 2020
