Derek Allan Beeston

In this role I find solutions for students that need or desire a non traditional path to graduation. To accomplish this I create partnerships with Post Secondaries, Provincial Authorities, Industry, Employers, and other agencies, to deliver programs that focus on preparing students to successfully transition out from high school.

I assisted the District Principal by ensuring the details of both existing and new programs met curricular and audit requirements. This included overseeing instruction, scheduling, learning recourses and facilities.

• Gained extensive knowledge in data entry, analysis and reporting.
• Managed time efficiently in order to complete all tasks within deadlines.
• Used critical thinking to break down problems, evaluate solutions and make decisions.

During this time period I Worked in three different high schools with many school leaders and was the lead in every task that Vice Principals are responsible for including; scheduling, staff management, student support, parent relations, department budgets, facilities management, learning resources and more.

My degree is in Technology Education but I was fortunate to be able to teach in many subject areas. Some of my most rewarding experiences were creating new courses or programs to meet the changing needs of students.
