Worked as a Director of Care in the following areas; Day & Stay, Convalescent Care, Adams Centre BTSU and Long term care.

Responsible for daily operations and delivery of the highest standard of care to the residents at the 3 homes I worked at.

Maintained regulatory compliance through analyzing quality indicators and working to improve resident outcomes and overall satisfaction.

Responsible for the co-ordination of mandated programs as outlined in the FLTCHA.

Work closely with staff to ensure that they are motivated and compliant in their work.

Relationship building with residents, families and stakeholders.

Different reporting requirements for all of the above programs were my responsibility.

Led the Nursing, Recreation and Rehab teams.

Prioritized tasks and allocated resources appropriately to keep teams focused and productive.

Assisted senior leadership in managing all aspects of operations.

Worked on a temp license as an IEN as a charge nurse. Once I completed my requirements for license I became the Director of Care at the facility.

I worked hard to learn both roles as I had never worked in Canada or LTC before.

It was a rural setting with limited access to care partners and personnel . This proved to be challenging at times but taught me how to become a empathetic & creative leader and use available resources.
