Lived and volunteered as a Director and Tenant Representative a Salus Ottawa for 5 years.

Salus offers a range of supportive housing options for adults with serious mental illness and concurrent challenges including addictions, homelessness and cycles of hospitalization.

Salus plays a vital role in providing a continuum of mental health services and programs in the Ottawa community. For over 40 years, Salus has been supporting adults with serious mental illness.

Humanitarian Service Organization

Volunteered for a Humanitarian Service Organization for 25 years. My involvement included:

Assisting in planning, coordinating and executing projects to help the needy in the world including:

Conducting the renovation of a after school program location for children living in difficult circumstances in Poland.

On-site distribution of food, clothing etc in homeless shelters in Russia,

Visiting and supporting isolated and lonely long term care patients in many locations in Italy.

Organizing food and clothing drives 2-3 times per year to support food banks and homeless shelters in in various cities in Canada.

Onsite renovation of a orphanage in Belarus.

Maintained clean, neat, and operational facilities to serve program needs at the various headquarters.

Assisted with special events and programs.

Boosted fundraising efforts for each of the yearly projects.


Guyana - Assisted in disaster relief efforts in Guyana after a large part of the country and its population was severely damaged by a large flud. We also organized on site medical camps whereby we provided our on nurses and doctors free of charge.
