DEE HERNANDEZ

Dee Hernandez, East Coast Music Award and Music New Brunswick Award Nominee is multitalented New Brunswick based artist. This Cuban-Canadian artist has been converting new fans all over with her unique brand of Latin fire. Her efforts have resulted in nominations and CBC support–both regionally and nationally. Canadian artist Sass Jordan declared Dee a ‘World Class Jazz Singer’, while Maritime Edit magazine called her ‘The Voice of Cuban-Canadian Jazz’. Recently also featured on season two of Maestro Chef West TV show on Bell FibeTV by Hip-Hop Legend and Canada Hall of Fame inductee Maestro Fresh West.

Dee's music is a fusion of Cuban Jazz, R&B with elements of Funk and Pop with influences from Amy Winehouse, Erykah Badu and Salsa Queen Celia Cruz. Her performances have been described as a vibrant mix of energy, captivating vocals and infectious rhythms. Dee Hernandez is a must-experience force of artistic innovation and musical freedom.

Worked as Singer with different Bands
with very different music styles such as Pedras Da Rue singing fusion Bossa Novas, the James Bryan McCollum Jazz group from the Canadian pop duo Prozzäk, Cassava Latin Rhythms who performed various musical styles of Latin America. At this point, she was not only growing as a singer but as an artist, which led to her striking style, which
she maintains to this day.

Dee played in many festivals and venues such as
Ritmo y Color Latin Festival Toronto, Harborfront, Taste of Danforth Festival, Hamilton, and Oakville Jazz festival and Ritmo, Cafe Habana, Lula Lounge just to name a few and recorded a song in a children’s album at Canadian Studio Metal Works with Fisher Price and recorded asong in a children’s album at Canadian Studio Metal Works with Fisher
