I worked for the Federal Government beginning in 1991 for close to 35 years, beginning at the Canada Employment Centre in Thompson, Manitoba. Early in my career I delivered services in the Employment Insurance (EI) Program, processing EI claims, and also with Investigation and Control investigating EI fraud.

In 1999 I became a Labour Affairs Officer with the Labour Program in Winnipeg, Manitoba. This position involved investigating health and safety and labour standards contraventions in federally regulated workplaces. In 2005, I was appointed to a position in Ottawa, as National Health and Safety Program Advisor, mentoring new Officers, developing policy, and providing expertise to management including Senior Management, in the ranks of Assistant and Deputy Minister of Labour.

In 2010, I accepted a job with the Canada Border Services Agency, as a Senior Occupational Health and Safety Advisor, to assist the Agency as they were implementing the arming initiative, to equip Border Service Officers with duty firearms and training.

concluded my career with the Federal Government working for Service Canada for the past 10 years, in the role of Senor Human Resources Advisor, specializing in the duty to accommodate, disability management and occupational health and safety. The last 3 years I have worked remotely, reporting to management in Gatineau, as we relocated to Cochrane, Alberta.
