David Yifeng Xu

My name is David Yifeng Xu, the Champion of U13 boys single and U13 boys Team of 2024 Canada Junior National Championships. I have been selected as No.1 seed to represent Canada to attend Pan Am U11&U13 boys events on August 19th 2024 in Santo Domingo, wish I would make great achievements.

I started to learn to play table tennis when I was 7 years old. I practiced regularly and worked very hard with my coach Zhang Peng (Wilson Zhang), the former Olympic player. During the trainings and competitions, I have been using Butterfly VIS, the forehand rubber is DO9C and the backhand is D05.

Since I was ten, I started to attend tournaments. I have gained plenty of metals and certificates in the past few years. In 2022, I became a Canadian National Team player.

I am enthusiastic about table tennis. I am very focused and full of energy. I kept training at least 4 hours every single day and tried to reach an international advanced level. In October 2023, I represented Canada to attend the Pan Am U11&U13 Championships. It was my first time attending an international tournament. I competed very hard and entered the Top 16 at U13 boys. In June 2024, I attended WTT Westchester events and entered the Top 8 of both events of U13 boys and U15 boys singles. Now I am ranking the Top One of U13 boys in Canada with WTT ranking points of 48.

As a young table tennis player, I have developed a strong work ethic, discipline, and dedication to achieving my goals. Currently, I am a volunteer in Greater Vancouver Table Tennis Club, where I shared my spirit and learning experiences with other younger players. With a passion for excellence and a drive to succeed, I am confident in my ability to bring some honors for Canada one day. My favorite star is Lily Zhang. She ever said "Dream Big and Work Hard." My big dream is to attend the Olympics one day.
