I really enjoyed Utility locating for 15 years at Mb.Hydro ,the other 10 were spent as an operator driver.However felt I was becoming a little complacent and needed to gain more knowledge in the field of Utility Locating. The perfect job came up at a tech company in Brandon ,locating telecommunications. I would be able to learn a new aspect of locating doing what I love .I was told by my immedIate supervisor they needed all locates assigned to me be completed that day ,it was an unreasonable request for me as I was new to telecommunications locating and value Accuracy over Speed .I was shown very basic locating skills of there telcommunications plant .I decided it goes against my professional nature to do fast but inaccurate locates,so I began developing my own system of locating using direct connect methods and different frequencies. I worked very hard for 3 months developed a fast and accurate system of locating got all work done everyday,and at the last day of my probationary period was let go.It was a great job and looked forward to it everyday.People ask me why I was let go ,did I work to hard or too safe ,I worked safely with Mb. HYDRO FOR 25 years and is ingrained in my personality, I don't know but consider it an accomplishment because I would not sacrifice accuracy for speed I learned a lot about telecommunications locating and developed a system of locating that exceeded there methods ,that was both fast and accurate .

Confined space training

I had a very good career with Manitoba Hydro,it is a very good reputable company to work for ,but I always thought I would like to relocate to Alberta to be near family.I have family in Ponoka as well as Red Deer and Calgary .I do have an Alberta address at my sisters in Ponoka and would not be difficult to obtain Alberta identification.I am also an avid Mountain bike,road bike as well as downhill and enjoy cross country skiing as often as I can.I think it would be a great place to live and I would be very happy to live there.
