  • As assistant manager, water resources for the Imperial Irrigation District my responsibility was supervision of the Water Resources Section
  • This section directed and coordinated the activities and objectives for the planning and management of water resources, including Colorado River water transfers and other local, state, and federal matters as prescribed by the water managers
  • The section prepares and recommends short and long-range plans to develop and protect IID water resources
  • The discrete units included administration and water quality and for several years included water transfer environmental mitigation involving projects at the Salton Sea and agriculture water science and water user education
  • This section assists in the implementation of the Quantification Settlement Agreement (QSA) and was responsible for the long-term co-management of the IID/SDCWA Water Conservation and Transfer Program and related projects including the IID fallowing program
  • My section was responsible for the Department of Water Resources (DWR) state water plan update and progress report.

  • The section directs and coordinates the activities and objectives for the planning and management of water resources, including water transfers, Colorado River and other appropriate local, state, and federal matters
  • The section prepares and recommends short and long-range plans to develop and protect IID water resources
  • Implementation of the IID fallowing program was the responsibility of this section
  • The section assists in the implementation of the Quantification Settlement Agreement (QSA) and is responsible for the long-term management of the IID/SDCWA Water Conservation and Transfer Program and related projects
  • The staff provide technical guidance to the Water Department and IID Management on water issues by directing and conducting detailed technical analysis on issues of interest to the IID
  • Detailed technical analysis includes performing thorough agricultural engineering, economic, and legal analysis of pending water issues, conducting basic and applied research, and selecting and directing the activities of consultants retained to provide analytic services.
