Upon receipt of the assigned vessel for loading/discharging, coordinate with the terminal regarding the ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival), cargo to be discharged/loaded, which berth, and jetty
Prepares all the necessary equipment to be used such as sounding tapes, thermoprobes, samplers, safety equipment, cans, bottles, and other containers that may be required
Coordinates fully with the area manager regarding the vessel status
Prior to vessel arrival coordinates to identify which shore tank should be used for receiving and/or discharge of the cargo intended
Once on board the vessel, meet with the Master/Chief Officer/Chief Engineer
Discuss the pre-loading/discharging plan
Perform an initial survey, if loading, make sure that the nominated cargo tanks are well-washed and clean and are fit to load the intended cargo.
