Manager - Energy & Loadout

  • Strategic Focus: relationship building and stakeholder engagement with Government NL Regulatory Services as the owner of multiple Government NL pressure regulated facilities and Power of Authority assignment.
  • NL Hydro Account owner - supporting study work for additional power capacity in Lab West. Leading maintenance and outage collaboration and forecasting power demand based on production targets ($65M annually budget)
  • Sponsored IOC's largest GHG reduction project (>5KT Co2 reduction) with a 40WM Electric Arc boiler delivering ~$7.5M/annum in fuel savings.
  • Delivery of multiple life cycle improvement projects that transformed our operations: Championed >10+ energy efficiency projects driving operational effectiveness (IOC's Energy Dashboard recognized as Best Practice), a significant increase in car factor delivered additional rail capacity, reduction ($$$) of rental HME by >50%, implementation of Work Management processes and reduction in MTBF for fossil fuel boilers
  • Pillar Lead and Auditor for Safety Maturity Model (SMM). Prioritizing SMM embedding within Energy & Loadout enabled our team to achieve and sustain an AIFR 0.0 over the last 30 months


Superintendent Operations - Pellet Plant

  • Accountable for the performance of 130+ front line work force and ~14 staff members providing leadership to reach a common goal while maintaining a +$220M annual budget.
  • Lead Operational and Mechanical teams through implementation of Work Management processes. Delivering robust maintenance schedules with thorough work ID and stakeholder engagement resulted in reduced downtime and increased productivity.
  • Led continuous improvement initiatives with multiple stakeholder teams (warehousing, Operational Center, procurement, project engineering, etc) resulting in enhanced operational excellence and cost savings.
  • Selected as Team lead for CRM Task Force implementation and lead implementation of PMC shift start in Pellet Plant
  • Successfully facilitated onboarding of first Control Room Operators transitioning to our Operations Center functions

Shutdown Coordinator - Pellet Plant

  • Utilize Shutdown Management frame work to successfully build and execute plans for critical plant outages in the Pellet Plant.
  • Lighthouse team selected for initial onbaording of RT Shutdown management process at IOC as well as amalgamate Shutdown management process and capital investment projects.
  • Key focus to reduce outage downtime through rigorous planning and supporting the execution throughout the process.
  • Prepared accurate reports on the progress of scheduled work, contributing to better decision-making processes during the shutdown period.
  • Evaluated vendor performance during contract negotiations to ensure that qualified contractors were selected for specific tasks.
  • engagement with stakeholders key to shutdown process, including engineering, procurement, quality control, safety personnel to streamline operations during aasset shut down.

Maintenance Shift Superintendent - Pellet Plant

  • As a Maintenance Superintendent, main objective was mentoring staff workforce so they could deliver clear, effective leadership for safe and efficient work direction of 85+ unionized personnel in a fixed equipment environment.
  • Reduced equipment downtime by establishing a proactive maintenance program for all machinery.
  • Streamlined processes for increased productivity, identifying areas of improvement and implementing solution such as kitting and staging
  • Co-managed an $80 million dollars MTCE budget within the Pellet Plant.
  • Prioritize and scheduling of all Maintenance resources. Including day-day and extended outages.
