  • Developed and implemented the City's first Technology Roadmap to guide the City's use of technology and to improve its business functions and enhance services to the community and its residents.
  • Provided direction, oversight and support of the City's Technology Roadmap to implement a citizen engagement mobile app, expand public Wi-Fi to 33 City parks and facilities, and Digital Parking Signage to display real-time parking availability, improve driver and pedestrian safety and improve traffic conditions at Town Centre Park and Coquitlam Crunch Trail.
  • Provided oversight and support of the City's Pandemic response to implement remote work solutions, remote service delivery and enhanced online public services to it's staff,residents and community.
  • Proactively engages with internal and external stakeholders, members of Council and other City departments to foster collaboration, address challenges and find innovative solutions.
  • Responsible for the security of the City's digital assets, implementing security measures, and addressing potential risks and breaches.
  • Manage the City's Fibre Optic Network (QNet) service that provides businesses, schools and residential high- rises with access to Canada's most competitive broadband services through the City's state-of-the-art fibre optic network.
  • Recognized by the Province of British Columbia and Municipal World Canada as a leader in pandemic recovery in 2019 and 2020.

GENERAL MANAGER, OPTICAL NETWORK CORPORATION -QNET

  • Responsible for managing and growing QNet, Canada's first municipal open access optical fibre network utility covering over 100 kilometers of metro area fibre, one hundred connected buildings, and two state-of-the-art data center facilities.
  • Drove year-over-year business growth while leading operations and long-range planning.
  • Drafted and distributed reports to assist QNet board of directors with critical business decisions.
  • Developed and implemented a Business Plan to support key strategies that included 5G Cellular data devices on city infrastructure and access to the Vancouver Internet Exchange in order to improve QNet's business functions, increase profitability and services to the community.
  • Provided direction and support of Coquitlam's QNet Fibre-Optic Network Corporation to change it's governance structure from a separate entity to a service provided by the City in Dec 2019. This provided greater administrative efficiency and alignment with City Economic Development activities.
