Volunteer Experience

Animal support

I have been an active part in improving the quality of life of abandoned animals, providing them with care, support, and affection in their transition to a permanent or temporary home. This is how I adopted my six pets in Lima, Peru, a country where animal abuse is out of control. My responsibilities included feeding, cleaning, and socializing the animals, as well as coordinating adoption events to promote responsible adoption, working closely with a team and my family to ensure that the animals receive basic medical care, such as vaccinations and anti-parasitic treatments. This experience has allowed me to develop skills such as empathy, teamwork, situation management, and effective communication

Key achievements:

  • I contributed to the success of the adoptions of homeless animals
  • I helped organize awareness events about responsible adoption, slightly increasing community participation, despite the indifference of citizens to this issue

University support (in progress)

As a volunteer in various initiatives within the university, I have had the opportunity to collaborate on projects and events organized to support the student community and encourage collective learning. My responsibilities include organizing academic events, administrative tasks, and supporting integration activities; through this volunteering, I have developed key skills in project management, leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving, while strengthening my interpersonal communication and adaptability skills

Key achievements:

  • I coordinated and promoted math events, achieving the participation of 100 school students
  • I encouraged the integration, contributing to a more inclusive and collaborative environment

I plan to continue volunteering at the university and/or in the Edmonton community to continue developing key skills for my personal and professional development, as I consider these good actions to be a great opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute to the university community while improving my ability to lead and collaborate on various projects
