Throughout my freshman and sophomore year, I attended Delta high school located at Clarksburg, California. due to a family matter, I had to transfer to Esparto high school and enrolled starting my junior year. Even with the struggle of moving to a new town, attending a new school, a completely whole new environment I still managed to keep a consistently above average GPA. Once I started my Senior year I felt more comfortable in the new environment I was in. Even though I was there for such short time I had made connections with friends, teachers and even coaches. During my 2 years at esparto those connections were super beneficial as they helped me by getting jobs that brought me closer to the community and helped open more doors.
My position working for the Summer School Program was more of a caretaker and tutor for the students enrolled in the program. The day would start at 7 am and the kids would be loaded up on school buses at 3 to 4 pm. I was assigned to a math teacher named, Mr. Myles Leege, together we were in charge of a Migrants ed Math course class. My job required me to translate for Mr.legee and answer any questions that the students had. Other than teaching the students in class our job also required to bond with the kids and make them feel comfortable to where they know to trust us as trusted adults. Outside the classroom we would take care and do surveillance and make sure all the students were healthy and safe.
I was a Student tutor while on my last year of high school as a senior. I was hired by my Soccer coach Mr. Juan Juarez. Myself and 2 other students accompanied by 2 lead tutors helped tutor students from afterschool hours 3 pm till 5 pm. I was mainly there to help students with their math and english homework.
My position working for the Summer School Program was more of a caretaker and tutor for the students enrolled in the program. The day would start at 7 am and the kids would be loaded up on school buses at 3 to 4 pm. I was assigned to a teacher named Mr. Kevin Oehmigen. Together we assigned the number of students in groups of even numbers in all of the 3 classes. The students were assigned to play an online educated game. It taught them teamwork, critical thinking, being organized, consequences, and slight economics. The game was about a journey and each team comes across the same outcome and situations.
