To whom it may concern,
It’s with enthusiasm and excitement that I’m applying for the Senior Physician Assistant position in Interventional Radiology at Kaiser. I'm a Physician Assistant with twenty two years of experience, including 5 years with Kaiser.
You may have noticed that my experience is almost exclusively in Emergency Medicine. Why transition to Interventional Radiology? I enjoy procedures and desire to make procedures the focus of my career. Over the years I have performed and become competent with ultrasound guided nerve blocks and vascular access, incision & drainages, needle aspirations, paracenteses, thoracenteses, j-tube changes, lumbar punctures, laceration repair, procedural sedation, and more. The element lacking in my current position is the paucity of procedures. I assure I’m not suffering career malaise, or avoid circumstances related to Emergency Department work. I genuinely enjoy performing procedures. I’m a believer in personal and intellectual growth and the opportunity to transition to this position is truly exciting.
Why choose me? After 22 years as a Physician Assistant, I’ve cared for thousands of patients of all ages, backgrounds and medical conditions. As a colleague, I’m competent, reliable, hard-working, affable, enthusiastic about learning, and open to feedback. I’m comfortable working independently and as part of a team. My Physician and Physician Assistant colleagues have confidence in my competency, and we have valuable & rewarding collegial relations. I have excellent working relations, and rapport with nursing & ancillary staff. My patients like me and feel comfortable in my care. My annual performance reviews and patient satisfaction scores consistently rank in the upper 90th percentiles. I know Health Connect and the Kaiser medical community. I’m a long-time Oakland resident and genuinely enjoy the community and our patients. I’ve worked as a Lead Physician Assistant and have trained & mentored practicing Physician Assistants, lectured & lead skills labs for students at Stanford University and Dominican College.
My background, experience and passion for procedure-based medicine has prepared me for this position. Throughout my career, I have consistently demonstrated a commitment to lifelong learning, professional growth, and evidence-based practice. I am confident in procedural skills, clinical judgment, and dedication to delivering high-quality patient care would make me a valuable addition to your team. I appreciate your time and consideration and look forward to meeting you in person to further discuss this position and field your questions.
Sincerely,
Dan McCormack, PA-C
Senior Physician Assistant
