  • Meet qualifications and perform duties required of Addiction Counselor including: knowledge of disease of addictions, mental health, gambling and related issues and the effects on the individual, family and community; file and case management; understanding of the Developmental Model of Recovery, the Clinical Principles for Alcohol and Drug Misuse Services in Saskatchewan, the Motivational Assessment Process, knowledge of the Recovery-oriented System of Care Model; Knowledge of Health Authority services and resources
  • Provide services to family members impacted by another person’s concurrent disorders with the understanding and perspective that the family is the primary client
  • Complete assessment of addictions and/or mental health related issues with regards to impact of another’s substance use and/or mental health on clients and determine appropriate recovery plans and referrals
