Kooth works closely with the NHS and provides face to face counselling to young people as well as an anonymous free online service where young people can find support in a safe way. Kooth has also been recognised by the technology industry winning the 'Tech for Good' award in 2021 in the UK Tech awards. My responsibilities as an Emotional wellbeing Practitioner were as followed:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments through clinical interventions, psychometric testing, and reviewing background information to identify the needs of the young person.
  • Identifying when more specialist/intensive mental health treatment is needed and referring appropriately
  • Creating structured case note formulations ensuring essential details are being recorded
  • Reading and responding to messages from team inbox providing support by seeking further intervention, challenging behaviours and responding with therapeutic encouragement

Area43 works closely with local authorities and schools providing support to young people through different initiatives such as free school based counselling or other living care support. Here were my responsibilities working as a counsellor for Area43.

  • Conducted one-on-one and group counselling sessions tailored to the specific needs of young people aged 10-30 accessing Area 43's services
  • Provided an integrative approach to counselling grounded in a person centred non judgemental approach whilst utilising the tools and techniques from the CBT and psychodynamic model
  • Efficiently managed and organized appointment schedules for counselling sessions with young people and their parents, ensuring timely access to services while accommodating individual needs and preferences.

As emotional wellbeing practitioner, here were my responsibilities:

  • Provide evidence-based mental health support to school and college aged young people, staff and parents / carers by delivering 1:1 guided sessions and group support
  • Maintaining sensitive information for families, schools and local authorities through use of case notes.
  • Ensuring safeguarding of young people by working closely with appointed staff within schools or colleges and raising safeguarding alarm when appropriate.

My responsibilities for the festival were as follows:

  • Managing the site, assisting with setup and placing venders in the correct location
  • Creating a site plan considering foot traffic entry and exists
  • Liaising with the security team on the days of the festival
  • Completing risk assessments and ensuring the safety of people on site
  • Organising venders for the event
  • Assisting with Marketing the event locally and connecting with BBC Radio Wales
