Maintained and repaired equipment involved in the shredding, processing, and conveying of used tires into a number of recycled products. - Dual role as an operating engineer in a 3rd class plant and as a millwright for food processing and packaging equipment. Responsibilities as operating engineer included the operation, maintenance, and repair, of two natural gas fired fire tube boilers, one natural gas fired water tube boiler, a 200 ton ammonia refrigeration plant, screw type air compressors, sterile air systems, cooling towers, HVAC systems, filtered water systems, and various pumps, controls, and related equipment. Responsibilities as millwright included the repair and maintenance of processing equipment including homogenizers, pumps, aseptic processing equipment, filling machines, packaging equipment, conveyors, belt and chain drive systems and gearboxes, automation controls including VFDs and PLCs, and all other related equipment.
- Work experience prior to 2008
- Prior to 2008 - I worked in a variety of fields from marine engine room duties to, mechanical design in the mining industry, to senior mechanical technician in large commercial buildings. I have a wide range of experience on everything from large marine diesel engines to pumps, compressors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, commercial HVAC systems, and basic electrical and digital controls systems.
