  • Climb navigational aid towers up to 100' to perform inspections and conduct maintenance as required;
  • Installation of solar panels, solar regulators, deep cycle batteries, battery boxes and equipment needed for remote off grid operations;
  • Perform slinging and long line operations with CCG helicopters in order to transport equipment and materials to remote sites;
  • Operating CCG barges throughout the Seaway and Great Lakes;
  • Use of an asset management system (Maximo) to track CCG infrastructure, equipment and the costs associated with their maintenance;
  • Plan the logistics of annual Arctic travel to complete projects in remote locations and meet strict deadlines;
  • Ensure that the Marine Communications and Traffic Services radio tower's electrical systems are operating properly; including back-up generators, remote monitoring of sites, aircraft warning beacons, lightning arrestors, and general building upkeep.
