  • Provide calm and reassuring assistance to callers in high stress situations, maintaining composure and gathering concise, accurate details of the situation to be relayed to responding officers in files I create using a computer aided dispatch system
  • Diffuse and comfort a steady stream of very upset, often quite angry callers
  • Handle multiple high-stress priority calls at once, dispatching appropriate resources and documenting all details, running queries on subjects, plate numbers, places and attaching to the file simultaneously to ensure officer and public safety
  • Acknowledging flags in queries performed and ensuring officers are aware of said flags
  • Maintain constant awareness through a 12 hour shift of all calls for service currently active, of my colleague's conversations with their callers, of all radio traffic to ensure I am ready to assist without being asked and to be the most efficient operator possible
  • Prioritize calls for service and dispatch to RCMP officers, provide support to officers through their response and followup, contact other departments for support as soon as possible if needed ; i.e. ensuring EMS is notified or that police dog services are called.
  • Perform regular status checks on all officers, run queries through CPIC , PIP and PROS as requested
