I have worked for Community Medical Centers including the only Level 1 Trauma Center between Sacramento and Los Angeles in central California, as well as University Medical Center that is partnered with UCSF which was my home base. I have spent my career learning and excelling in each aspect and am hoping to continue learning and growing with your facility. I am not opposed to learning/gaining additional certifications as necessary to keep moving forward in my career. As a licensed sonographer, I am tasked with producing diagnostic two-dimensional ultrasonic recordings of internal organs. I educate my patients on their exams and what they can expect to experience, thus alleviating their fears and/or anxiety. Perform image analysis for quality control for optimal imaging while ensuring safe and efficient patient experiences. I have over two decades of interpersonal communication and collaboration. Each patient and my colleagues are treated with the utmost respect, courtesy and poise. I have an exceptional ability to work within teams collocated or geographically dispersed to benefit the patient's needs. I have experience working with students and new hires in orienting and training/teaching. I have routinely scanned patients in a variety of settings, from bed side, trauma, sterile environments such as the operating rooms, to outpatient settings. My vast experiences and accomplishments will prove to be an asset to your facility and team. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you to provide the best, safest and most efficient patient care.

Sonographer IV

Permanente Medical Group
05.2011 - Current
  • I have been working full-time as an ARDMS licensed Sonographer since 1999
  • I hold four Ultrasound Licenses: Abd/General, OB/Gyn, Pediatrics, and Breast
  • I currently work an 80 hour Pay period with several days in the dedicated Breast department and the remaining days working on a General US schedule
  • Each general schedule includes 4 pelvic exams and 2 OB complete exams, supplemented by abdomen, small parts, vascular and pediatric cases
  • I was hired as the first Evening shift Sonographer at Roseville Medical center
  • My shift was 5 days a week from 7pm 3:30 am
  • I worked independently as the only sonographer on site for a few years
  • I performed a variety of exams including an array of vascular exams and emergency pediatric cases
  • I worked so well with the Night shift Emergency room staff I once won a 'star' award given to ED staff
  • I later moved to a dayshift where I perfected my pediatric skills and was often sent to the NICU and to the Children's wing for Peds ICU cases
  • Beginning in 2014, I began using my prior skills as a breast sonographer and joined the dedicated Breast imaging department on the Roseville medical center campus working directly with the Radiologists and mammographers
  • I am routinely called upon to locate masses as small as 3-5mm
  • I also perform 2nd look US recall, after MRI Breast Cancer scans to look for invasive cancers not seen on prior imaging

Sonographer III

Platinum Select/ AMN Healthcare Services
10.2006 - 05.2009
  • I accepted a Permanent Job in 2009 with Mercy Imaging Centers after the Radiologists wanted me to stay after I had spent a year working as a traveler at Mercy San Juan Hospital
  • With my years of experience at Trauma hospitals I was able to work with some amazing doctors learning exams and working on extraordinary cases like when I was at Banner Good Samaritan Hospital
  • I had the opportunity to scan quadruplets and other multiples
  • I also assisted with a periumbilical blood transfusion
  • I utilized my skills in high-risk Obstetrics that I had learned at prior facilities to be able to scan that many babies at once
  • While working at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital I was placed at the vascular Lab where all I scanned were vascular exams for arterials and venous insufficiency studies as well as vein mapping for perforators
  • I also assisted administration when we went from a film to filmless PACS system
  • I had been thru the transition before, so I worked with administration to help avoid a delay in patient care during the transition
  • While in Tennessee at Johnson City Medical Center I worked with administration to streamline patient transfers from one Emergency department to our Emergency Department for better, faster, and safer patient care

Sonographer II

Saint Agnes Medical Center Fresno, Ca
07.2001 - 11.2005
  • To highlight my time at Saint Agnes I worked alongside the Interventional Radiologists performing various procedures and biopsies
  • I worked several different positions and shifts
  • My favorite roll was working on the evening shift where I was tasked with training the new Sonographers on the PM shift
  • There were no Ultrasound schools in or near Fresno, so we often trained staff to become Sonographers

Sonographer I

Community Medical Systems Fresno
07.1999 - 07.2001
  • I worked at all 3 community medical centers, Fresno, Clovis and University Medical center
  • However, my home base was at University Medical Center
  • I routinely scanned trauma patients portably in the emergency room, NICU, ICU, and in the Burn unit
  • I performed a variety of procedures and exams in the Operating Room
  • I was acquiring my images on cassettes and processing my film in the dark room for x-rays
  • I would then hang my films for the Radiologists and then present my cases individually to them with all that I had learned from the patient's chart, labs, and patient history
  • I was expected to work my 40 hours a week and was asked to pick up at least 10 - 15 nights of on-call
  • I routinely performed Liver transplant and TIPS procedure Ultrasounds as we were a training facility for UCSF liver transplant facility
  • I learned a lot about how to care for migrant workers and those who did not speak English
  • I also taught myself some sign language including the alphabet which has also been an asset given the private nature of many of the Ultrasound exams I perform
  • I saw a lot of pathology in the 2 years I worked at University Medical Center
