Summary

I am an avid lifelong learner with adult education interests in evoking both individuals and professional communities to realize their full potential through learner centered opportunities. Critical-thinking skills and alternative ways of knowing at both the entry-to-practice level as well as throughout learners' life courses are other focuses that I am curious about. I believe that individual knowledge, team collaboration, supporting diversity and effective program implementation are all vital to the success of individual learners as well as organizations in a society that demands professionalization models. I bring with me many years of lived experiences as a Medical Radiological Technologist in various compassionate care, leadership, role modeling and educating capacities.

  • Experience working in many modalities within Diagnostic Imaging and hold two specialty certifications (Breast Imaging and Computed Tomography)
  • Experience as a Diagnostic Imaging Team Leader while working as a liaison between peers, other departments, healthcare professionals, organizational committees, and provincial initiatives
  • Experience organizing and facilitating learning activities for various learning groups and levels such as Techsploration role-modeling, job fair presentations, student preceptorships, new employee orientation roles, Specialty Practice Assessor and Multimodality Breast Imaging Rounds Facilitator
  • Experiences working with high school students, Nova Scotia Community College nursing students and Health Sciences students from various formal education programs across Canada as they navigate learning in the clinical setting
  • Well developed oral and written communication skills, developed presentation skills and an awareness of learners' diverse strengths and aptitudes
  • Proficient in a variety of field relevant technology, hardware and software programs including (ie Microsoft 365, Teams, GoToMeetings, Blackboard)
  • Collaborative leadership skills with an ability to consider the limitations of a social system as well as the needs of learners through constructive dialogue, quality improvement and innovation
