The Cooperative Restraining Order Clinic (CROC) helps domestic violence survivors in San Francisco/Bay Area obtain restraining orders against their abusers.

The Case Manager/Legal Assistant:

• Serves as primary point of contact for CROC’s Spanish speaking clients, answering phone calls; completing intakes with prospective clients over phone and in person; triaging clients to appropriate attorney.
• Interpreting for CROC’s attorneys in interviews.
• Providing crisis intervention, criminal legal system orientation, court support, resource and referral counseling.
• Assisting clients to complete court documents, preparing clients for hearings, handling client inquiries regarding their cases and traveling to and from court to file and retrieve court documents.
• Developed strong rapport with clients through attentive listening skills and empathetic understanding of their situations.
• Managed scheduling needs for multiple attorneys to ensure optimal time allocation for cases and appointments.

• Conducts outreach to eligible and referred patients to offer and engage in care management services.
• Identifies and documents patient's linguistic need(s), learning style preference(s), transportation need(s) and schedules interpretation and/or transportation services as needed.
• Conducts in-person, comprehensive Initial Health Education and Behavioral Assessments (IHEBA) and assessments of Social Determinants of Health for patients enrolled in care management programs.
• Develops patient-centered, individualized Health Action Plans. Support patients in their implementation of Health Action Plans.
• Accompany patient to appointments outside of MNHC and conduct home visits.
• Support nurse, patient, and caregiver(s) in re-assessment of Health Action Plan goals and interventions.
• Leads Care Conferences and other individual and family support services with patient, family members as needed and patient's Care Team.
• Act as a liaison to hospitals, long-term care settings, specialists, home health representatives, and other community agencies in collaboration with Care Teams.
• Facilitate care transitions for patients discharging from external facilities (i.e., skilled nursing, hospital, emergency room) and ensure appropriate follow-up with patient's PCP in a timely manner.
• Improved patient satisfaction through effective communication and collaboration with interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Streamlined care coordination processes, resulting in timely referrals and access to appropriate resources.

• The W.O.M.A.N., Inc. 24-hour support line offers support to survivors of Domestic Violence through peer counseling, safety planning, and referrals for resources. The support line is used as a safe space for survivors to openly share details of their lives including the abuse they survive.  A lot of the time the survivor just needs someone to listen without judging, to help them better understand their experience, and to validate their feelings and choices. On this support line we also connect with family and friends of survivors. Seeing someone close to you experiencing a scary situation is hard and a lot of the time survivor’s loved ones don’t know what to do or how to best support the survivor in their life. As peer counselors, our role is to provide support to them.

• Assumed logistical management due to Earnings Before Interest and Tax (EBIT) falling below annual revenue desired by company
• Restructured existing processes impeding EBIT increase, resulted in 11% net profit
• Assumed accounting responsibilities to discover uncollected revenue, bad debt, and unreturned deposits, etc. ; assessed and reconciled all accounting discrepancies
• Implement and oversee local advertisement to increase visibility and sales
• Managing 120+ Client Accounts, including their mail, invoicing, helping them coordinate meetings, setting up internet and phone systems.
• Conduct Client Needs Analysis to support customer success, new company initiatives, business development goals and implementation of new tools and systems to improve efficiency; ensure client satisfaction with company product(s) and provide viable option for timely and efficient upgrade(s) and expansions
• Coordinating Community Events allowing clients to network and make business connections
• Maintained open communication with customers to foster positive relations and provide updates on issues
