Cover Letter

I am writing to express my interest in joining the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department. With over five years of experience as an Infantryman in the California Army National Guard, combined with leadership roles through the Army ROTC program at California State University, Fullerton, I am confident in my ability to serve and protect the citizens of Riverside County with honor and integrity. Throughout my service, I’ve developed critical skills in leadership, tactical operations, and physical preparedness, as demonstrated by my role as a team leader, rifle and pistol instructor, and my score of 570 on the Army Combat Fitness Test. I have also had the opportunity to instruct Marines in Close Quarters Combat during a deployment to Kuwait and contribute to my community through volunteer service with the American Red Cross. The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department appeals to me because of its outstanding reputation, commitment to its personnel, and wide array of specialized assignments. I am particularly drawn to the department’s values, structure, and opportunities for growth, and I am excited about the chance to contribute to such a professional and respected agency. Thank you for considering my application. I welcome the opportunity to further discuss how my background, training, and values align with your department’s mission. I am available for interviews at your convenience and can be reached at (909) 997-1067 or collinkrutter@gmail.com.
