Wescan closed its doors and I was hired at State Industries the same day. State industries had acquired the Omax 55100 and Axyz 5012 from Wescan in further months and I set up the CNC dept.
I ran the department for 10 years. When I left we had three waterjets still the CNC router, laser engraver nd press brake.
Cool projects worth mentioning are the Doner wall and entry sign and the park across from the forks. The pink jelly bean planters and the women's hospital.
Wow this was a long time ago.
Regular rubber belt shop that had added a Omax 55100 waterjet. Primarly we manufactures rubber and plastic parts for agricultural manufacturing.
I remember reading about waterjet technology and 2 weeks later I was running one. At Wescan I made a lot of parts and learned how to process conveyor belts and pulleys.
Coolest job that I did while there was two armed guards brought in a big block of pure silver and stood there while I cut it into strips.
