• During my master's studies, one challenge we were given was to develop a significant advancement in the environmental field. In my case, it involved developing a method for the remediation of difficult-to-remove contaminants in aquatic environments, such as pyridine, a harmful organic pollutant found in industrial wastewater. Pyridine is problematic due to its high toxicity and resistance to conventional water treatment processes. In my experiment, I used pyridine and modified a small pilot reactor. Through chemical catalysis, I developed a method for remediating this contaminant in water with efficiency comparable to more expensive methods. At the same time, I learned to use various laboratory techniques and different equipment, which has greatly influenced my professional experience.
