With over 25 years of experience in the dance world, Chyna Williams has established herself as a dance instructor who strives for excellence and establishes high expectations of her students while maintaining a beautiful connection all-round. With experience and varied certifications in ballet (R.A.D. as well as Cecchetti backgrounds), jazz, tap, hip hop, acrobatics, musical theatre, and contemporary/lyrical; Chyna has taught ages 2 to 80 years old at multiple studios across Ontario since 2002. Certified in Acrobatic Arts and having done multiple workshops and trainings with Mandy Yip and staff of Cirque Du Soleil, acro is Chyna’s specialty. Growing up as a competitive dancer, Chyna received multiple awards not only for her technique and stage presence, but also for her sportsmanship and attitude. Following her competitive dance career, Chyna went on to travel Australia and Europe taking classes and training wherever possible, before establishing herself more permanently in her hometown running her own studio with 200 dancers for ten years. After the birth of her daughter, Chyna made the difficult decision to close her dance studio to be present at home with her three children and meet the special needs of having a child with Autism. She spends her days laughing and playing, bringing as many opportunities as she can into their lives. She is excited to continue incorporating the passion she has for dance into her own life as an adjudicator, watching dancers explore their creativity and push their boundaries, expressing their passion for dance on the stage.
