Product knowledge: Have a thorough understanding of various type of meat, including beef, poultry, pork, and seafood, as well as knowledge cuts, grade and quality standard.
Sales and upselling: Promote meat products to customers, suggest complementary items and upsell higher-value cuts or specialty items.
Stocking and merchandising: Ensure meat displays are properly stocked, organised and visually appealing, including rotating products to maintain freshness and quality.
Food Safety and Sanitation: Adhere to food safety standards and regulations, including proper handling, storage and sanitation practices to prevent contamination to ensure product safety.
Order fulfilment: Recieve and fulfill customer orders, including cutting, packaging and weighing meat product according to customer specifications.
Cleaning and maintenance: maintenance cleanliness and orderliness of the meat department, including cleaning equivalent, countertype and display cases, as well as disposing of waste properly.
Compliance: Fellow company policies, procedures and regulations regarding Food, safety, health, sanitation, as well as compliance with local, state, federal regulations.
